Description of this Course
This course covers FactoryTalk View ME training for connecting to RS Studio 5000 PLCs using FactoryTalk Studio software. It is intended for users who require the knowledge to create maintain and develop FactoryTalk View ME projects and become familiar with the tools available in the software.
FactoryTalk View ME is an HMI software used for operating and controlling systems across many industries and applications. It is especially well suited for interfacing with RS Studio 5000 PLC programs although it is not limited to this. It is a powerful yet very user friendly and versatile platform and is the HMI software I would choose where possible.
During this course I will explain the key differences between FactoryTalk View SE and FactoryTalk View ME. While there are similarities there are also a number of important differences which will be clearly highlighted.
I will be your instructor during this training and I have many years of practical experience creating projects programming PLCs and HMIs commissioning systems and delivering face to face training. I also hold a SAQA Further Education and Training Certificate in Measurement Control and Instrumentation which is recognised internationally.
The course begins with an introduction to FactoryTalk View Studio and the FactoryTalk Directory followed by the creation of your first project.

No specific prior knowledge is required to take this course. However the following will be an advantage:
- Basic knowledge of PLCs
- Studio 5000 PLC knowledge
- HMI experience
- Computer literacy
- Familiarity with FactoryTalk View SE

The course consists mainly of video tutorials where I explain the different aspects of FactoryTalk View ME and demonstrate how to use the software in practice. Practical labs are included along with quizzes after each section to help reinforce learning. Solutions are provided for the practical exercises.
By the end of the course you will feel confident creating and running FactoryTalk View ME projects interrogating existing systems and carrying out necessary changes to a running operation.
The more you use the software the more confident you will become.
